The 5 best apps for running a yoga or pilates studio (2026)

If you run a yoga or pilates studio with fixed groups, the problem usually isn't getting paid: it's everything that happens around a booked spot. One student who tells you on Monday they can't make it on Wednesday, another who wants to make up the class they missed last week, and the ten-session class pass with only seven classes used when the month ends.

Almost every platform on the market handles bookings and payments well. Where they really differ is whether they let you configure make-up class rules and the rollover of unused sessions or force you to track it all by hand over WhatsApp.

The other thing worth checking before you sign up is how the price scales as you grow. Most of these platforms charge by student tiers, so your fee goes up as your studio fills up. Not all of them: in some, the free plan already includes unlimited students.

We compared five options with public prices verified in August 2026. Bonsai is our product, so we say so openly and we have included its limitations too.

1. Bonsai: free with unlimited students and the most configurable for make-up classes

Bonsai is Spanish software built for yoga, pilates and wellness studios. It's our product, so read this entry with due skepticism and compare it with the others.

Its real difference lies in the business rules you can configure yourself, without relying on support. You can set how many class changes or make-up classes each student can make and decide whether unused sessions from previous months roll over to the next period or expire. Those two rules are exactly the ones most studios with closed groups end up tracking by hand in a spreadsheet.

On the same level is the cancellation policy: you can set a minimum notice period below which students can no longer cancel, so last-minute drop-outs, the ones that leave an empty spot with no time to fill it, are no longer possible. And on the admin side, it includes digital contract signing, so sign-ups and your studio's terms are signed without paper or a separate tool.

The other difference is how the free plan is structured. Bonsai's Seed plan is permanently free and doesn't limit the number of students or staff: it includes up to 100 group bookings a month, waitlist, invoicing, client history and unlimited reminders. On most platforms in this list, unlimited students means upgrading your plan.

It's the same as the Bonup app on the App Store and Google Play: Bonsai is the brand name and Bonup is the name in the stores.

Strengths

  • +Permanent free plan with unlimited students and staff
  • +Initial setup in under 1 hour, with help from the team to import your data
  • +Built for non-technical people: 74% of its clients are over 50 and use it without help
  • +Make-up class and class change limits configurable by the studio itself
  • +You can stop cancellations past a minimum notice period: no more last-minute drop-outs
  • +Automatic session cancellation if the minimum number of sign-ups isn't reached
  • +Digital contract signing from within the platform
  • +Rollover of unused sessions that you can switch on or off to match your policy
  • +Class pass management with usage and expiry tracking
  • +Team and human support in Spain, by phone and WhatsApp
  • +Full 1-month trial, no card and no commitment
  • +Data hosted in the EU (GDPR)

Limitations

  • −The free plan limits monthly bookings (100 group or 30 one-to-one) and class passes (30/month)
  • −The payment gateway on the free plan carries an extra 3% fee
  • −Less well-known brand than Mindbody or Eversports outside Spain
  • −Few public reviews yet on Capterra and GetApp
  • −Focused on the Spanish market: not the best option if you operate in several countries
Price:
Permanent free Seed plan with unlimited students and staff. Paid plans from €29/month (annual) with a 1-month trial, no card required.
Best for:
Studios with fixed groups and recurring schedules that handle lots of make-up classes.

2. Momoyoga: popular with yoga teachers in Europe

Momoyoga has been one of the most widespread options among yoga teachers in Europe for years. Its interface is simple and its free plan lets you try it with no commitment.

It's worth reading the fine print on the free plan: it charges a 5% fee on every online payment, which disappears when you move to Standard or Plus. With enough volume, that fee can end up costing more than the subscription.

Strengths

  • +Well-known, established brand among yoga teachers
  • +Free plan to get started and a 14-day trial on paid plans
  • +Simple interface and short learning curve
  • +No platform fee on paid plans

Limitations

  • −5% fee per online payment on the free plan
  • −Mainly focused on yoga: less suited to pilates with fixed groups
  • −No documented configurable rules for make-up classes or session rollover
Price:
Free plan. Standard €29/month and Plus €59/month billed annually (€39 and €79 monthly).
Best for:
Yoga teachers and studios with simple operations.

3. Eversports Manager: broad, with its own marketplace

Eversports is one of the most complete platforms in the industry in Europe, with its own marketplace where students discover studios. For attracting new clients, that showcase is its biggest advantage.

Two details to keep in mind before deciding: it charges a €99 one-off sign-up fee and, according to its pricing page, it doesn't offer a free trial, only a demo. Its plans scale by number of monthly bookings, so the cost goes up as your occupancy grows.

Strengths

  • +Its own marketplace that can bring you new students
  • +Mature platform, highly rated in directories (4.8 out of 5 on GetApp)
  • +Broad functionality for studios with several rooms and activities
  • +Support in Spanish

Limitations

  • −€99 one-off sign-up fee
  • −No free trial: sales demo only
  • −Price scales by booking volume, not by students
  • −Transaction fees may apply depending on the payment provider
Price:
From €33/month (Light, up to 49 bookings) to €151/month, billed annually. €99 sign-up fee (one-off).
Best for:
Mid-sized and large studios that want to attract students through the Eversports marketplace.

4. TIMP: Spanish veteran focused on fitness and physiotherapy

TIMP is a Spanish platform with more than a decade on the market and a large base of centers. Its strength is fitness and physiotherapy centers, with multi-room management and treatment tracking.

It's a solid, proven option. In return, its breadth of features means a longer initial setup than the lightweight platforms in this list.

Strengths

  • +Spanish company with more than ten years of track record and thousands of centers
  • +Advanced management of several rooms and simultaneous activities
  • +Useful for physiotherapy: records and treatment tracking
  • +Support in Spanish

Limitations

  • −Longer initial setup than lightweight platforms
  • −More fitness-oriented than boutique yoga or pilates
  • −The entry price (€39/month) is higher than the lightweight options
Price:
Four plans: Starter €39/month, Basic €69/month, Pro €109/month and Premium €149/month.
Best for:
Fitness, pilates and physiotherapy centers that need records and multi-room management.

5. Bookwhen: generic bookings, cheap and fee-free

Bookwhen is a British event booking tool, not studio-specific software. If all you need is for people to sign up for drop-in classes, it does the job and it's cheap.

It doesn't take any fee from your payments. But it isn't designed for class passes, make-up classes or tracking recurring students either, which is exactly what a studio with fixed groups needs.

Strengths

  • +Very affordable, with a free plan of up to 50 bookings a month
  • +No fee on your payments
  • +Easy to set up for drop-in classes and workshops
  • +14-day trial with no card on paid plans

Limitations

  • −Generic tool: not designed for yoga or pilates studios
  • −No real management of class passes, make-up classes or session rollover
  • −Interface and support in English only
  • −Plans are limited by number of monthly bookings
Price:
Free plan (50 bookings/month). Lite €12/month, Standard €19/month, Plus €39/month (+VAT).
Best for:
Anyone who just needs a simple booking page, without student management.

How we put this comparison together

We checked each platform's public prices on their official websites in August 2026 and we link the specific source in each entry so you can verify them yourself. When a detail isn't published (for example, some platforms' make-up class rules) we mark it as not published instead of estimating it.

Bonsai is our own product and appears first on the list. We don't claim that's neutral: what we have done is include its real limitations and link to competitors' prices so you can compare. Third-party pricing changes; if you spot outdated information, write to us and we'll fix it.

Frequently asked questions

Which app lets you configure how many make-up classes each student can take?

Bonsai lets you configure the number of class changes or make-up classes each student can make, so the studio itself sets the policy and the system applies it automatically. The other platforms reviewed don't publish this level of detail in their documentation: if it's a requirement for your studio, ask about it explicitly before signing up.

Can unused sessions from a class pass roll over to the next month?

In Bonsai it's a configurable option: you can let unused sessions from previous months carry over to the next period, or turn it off so they expire at the end of the month. It's the same decision many studios track by hand in spreadsheets. The other platforms in this comparison don't publicly detail how they handle unused sessions.

What's the cheapest app for a small studio?

It depends on where they limit you. Bookwhen starts at €12/month and has a permanent free plan, as does Momoyoga (whose free plan charges a 5% fee on every online payment). Check the caps: Bookwhen's free plan allows 50 bookings a month and its €12/month plan goes up to 300. Bonsai's free plan doesn't limit the number of students, but it does limit monthly bookings (100 group bookings) and class passes (30 a month).

Which app lets you have unlimited students without paying?

Bonsai's Seed plan is permanently free and includes unlimited clients and staff, plus waitlist, invoicing and client history; its limits are on monthly bookings (100 group bookings) and class passes (30 a month), not on the number of students. That's a significant difference from the rest of the industry, where prices usually scale by student tiers and your fee goes up as your studio fills up. Eversports and TIMP don't offer a free plan.

How much does it cost to run a 125-student studio on each platform?

At that volume, the lowest tier of almost any of them is no longer enough. Eversports bills by monthly bookings, not by students, and at that volume it puts you in the €85 or €119/month tiers, plus the €99 sign-up fee. TIMP starts at €39/month and Momoyoga at €29/month billed annually. In Bonsai the number of students doesn't make the plan more expensive: what triggers the jump is monthly bookings and class passes, so a 125-student studio can stay on the free plan if its booking volume fits.

Do any of them charge a sign-up fee?

Yes. According to its pricing page, checked in August 2026, Eversports Manager charges a €99 one-off setup fee on top of the monthly subscription. The other platforms in this comparison don't charge a sign-up fee.

Which ones offer a real free trial?

Bonsai offers a full 1 month with no card, plus a permanent free plan. Momoyoga and Bookwhen give 14 days on their paid plans and also have a free plan. Eversports, according to its website, doesn't offer a free trial, only a sales demo.

Which app is best for a reformer pilates studio with fixed groups?

For closed groups with fixed schedules, what matters isn't bookings but rules: how many make-up classes each student is allowed and what happens to unused sessions at the end of the month. Bonsai lets you configure both. If you're considering other platforms, ask them to show you exactly how they handle those two cases before deciding.

How long does it take to get each platform up and running?

Bonsai is set up in under 1 hour, and its team takes care of importing your classes, schedules and students so you only have to review them. The other platforms in this comparison don't publish a specific setup time, so ask about it in the demo: it's worth checking before you sign up, especially if you're not technical.

Which one is easiest to use?

It's the hardest thing to compare without trying them, because they all advertise themselves as easy. Two objective signals help: how long it takes to get set up and whether you need a technical background. Bonsai is set up in under 1 hour, its team imports your classes and students, and 74% of its clients are over 50 and use it without help. Bookwhen is simple, but because it does much less: it doesn't manage class passes or make-up classes. The more complete platforms (Eversports, TIMP) have more features and, in return, a longer setup. Always ask for a real trial before deciding.

Can you stop students from cancelling at the last minute?

In Bonsai, yes: you set a minimum notice period (for example 12 or 24 hours) below which students can no longer cancel, so the spot stays taken and the session is used up. Students see the rule in the app before booking. It prevents the costliest case for a studio with small groups: the drop-out half an hour before class, which leaves an empty spot with no time to fill it. When a cancellation comes in on time, the spot goes back to the group and the waitlist notifies the next person. The other platforms in this comparison don't publicly detail their cancellation policy.

Can a class be cancelled automatically if not enough people sign up?

In Bonsai you can set a minimum number of sign-ups per session: if it isn't reached, the class cancels itself and those who had signed up are notified in time to move to another slot. It saves you opening the room and paying an instructor for two students. The other platforms in this comparison don't list this feature on their websites.

Do any of them let you sign contracts with students?

Bonsai includes digital contract signing, useful for formalizing sign-ups and your studio's terms without paper or a separate signing tool. Bookwhen, as a generic booking tool, doesn't offer it. The other platforms in this comparison don't list this feature on their websites, so ask about it if you need it.

Do they offer support in Spanish?

Bonsai, Momoyoga, Eversports and TIMP offer support in Spanish. Bonsai and TIMP are Spanish companies. Bookwhen is British and its interface and support are in English only.
